Painted directly onto denim—a material bound to function and identity—Mindless confronts the unsettling pulse of mass consumerism and the anxious rituals we perform in pursuit of satisfaction. In this piece, a human head erupts with chaotic energy, symbolising the overwhelming mental toll of constant consumption, decision paralysis, and fear of missteps.

Created in 2019, Mindless is a visceral reaction to the way global systems push people to consume, often without thought—leaving both the soul and the planet exhausted. The work speaks to a world bled dry by corporate agendas, where brand culture eclipses reflection, and endless choice becomes a burden.

This is more than a critique—it’s an emotional landscape, drawn from personal feeling. To exist in this economy, Josh says, is to navigate with unease, hoping not to choose wrong or fall behind. Through expressive materials and raw symbolism, Mindless invites viewers to pause—and consider what we’re really chasing.
